Dr. Daley tells of the devastating Bear Fire in Butte County, California, his heart wrenching loss of range and cattle, and how he leveraged his loss into an opportunity to engage California Legislators, Congress, and public land administrators in discussions about meaningful management of the fuel build-up on our federal lands. Dave Daley is well known within ranching circles as a great communicator and educator. He will share insights on how he has been able to influence those who make policies that impact our operations.
Dave was also instrumental in the establishment of the California Cattle Council. Two years ago, cattlemen in California approved a $1 assessment that can be used for a broad range of activities to enhance ranching operations in California. Dave chairs that organization and will describe the establishment and administration of the funds and show examples of projects funded by the California Cattle Council.
Dave will be speaking Saturday, March 12, in conjunction with Snyder’s Bulls for the 21st Century bull sale in Yerington, Nevada.
Following the presentation by Dr. Daley, Yerington Rotary and Yerington PEO are hosting, Boots, Buckles, and Bling. The dinner dance will provide bull sale consignors and buyers an opportunity to kick up their heels with the locals for a big night in Yerington. The evening will include an incredible steak dinner, no-host bar, silent and live auctions, raffle, and dancing to the Buck Ford Band. Proceeds from the party will support many community projects including thousands of dollars in scholarships that both organizations award to outstanding Yerington students.
